For the past couple of years we had been using a juiceman jr. We liked it but it was having difficulty holding up to all the juicing we began to do most recently. We did some research and felt that the Breville would meet our needs. I was happy to learn with the bigger mouth I didn’t have to do as much prep work as I had been doing with the juiceman jr. Also, the Breville has two speeds and a booklet that has great recipes and suggestions. Relatively easy to clean and put back together. We have used it everyday and is holding up to all the various fruits and vegetables we are juicing!

I saw fat, sick and nearly dead and thought I could try juicing. I’m 27 years old and I don’t eat many veggies so I thought I could try this and be somewhat healthy. The price was a bit too much so I bought a jack lalanne juicer from Costco ($80). I loved it. I would get a good amount of liquid from carrots, apples, cucumbers, celery and even cactus. I couldn’t get much out of spinach and kale even when I would roll it up like suggested.

Cons- large, bulky, and about 5-8 minutes to hand wash. On a whim, I returned it and bought a Breville JE98XL ($150) from Amazon.

WOW. It’s a beautiful machine. but who cares about looks.

Pros- smaller than the jack lelanne and you can just hear the power when you turn it on. It actually sounds louder than the jack Lelane power juicer.

Juice content: I can’t really tell if i’m getting more juice from it and the jack lelanne but i’m definitely not getting any less. BUT!!- I did notice the pulp extracted is a lot DRYER than the Jacklelane. I guess that means i’m getting more juice in my drink than in the garbage.

clean up is WAY easier- about 3-5 minutes hand washing and rinsing. if you do this every day the time you save up really ads up.

cons- Amazon.com keeps changing its price. I suggest you wait until it drops back down to $150 or buy it from zappos.com No reason to pay more for this when its only a 10% better than a JackLelane power juicer.

In the end, Breville makes the better machine: smaller than the jack lelane, easier to clean up, and the pulp extracted is drier. I just wish the price would stay consistent. wouldn’t pay more than $150 for it. at least the Jack Lelane power juicer was only $80 and well worth the price.
